You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out.
HOW WE SUPPORT OUR GIANTS
Wellbeing at the Giants is practical, proactive and built around people not policies.
WHY WELLBEING AT THE GIANTS MATTERS
By embedding wellbeing into the heart of our club, we’re creating a safer, more supportive environment where every player, coach, parent and supporter can thrive, on and off the field.
-
It’s okay to not be okay
-
Asking for help is a sign of strength
-
Mental fitness matters just as much as physical fitness
PEOPLE YOU CAN TALK TO
The Giants have dedicated wellbeing officers across key areas of the club, from junior football and netball through to senior levels.
They are approachable, trained points of contact who can:
-
Provide confidential, compassionate support
-
Help connect players and families with the right resources
-
Liaise with our mental health partners when needed
WELLBEING COORDINATOR
The Wellbeing Coordinator oversees the broader wellbeing strategy of the Geelong West Giants, working closely with our Wellbeing Officers, coaches, team managers and committee to create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for every Giant.
Their role is to identify wellbeing concerns early, provide confidential guidance, connect families with appropriate internal and external services, and coordinate education sessions through our trusted mental health partners including The Shaka Project, Read the Play and Tackle Your Feelings.
By strengthening awareness, resilience and connection across all teams, the Wellbeing Coordinator helps ensure that player welfare always comes first on and off the field.
OUR WELLBEING PARTNERS
Together, we help build a club culture where wellbeing is part of everyday life.
