JUNIOR FOOTBALL
Junior football at the Geelong West Giants supports players from Under 9s through to Under 16s, with a clear pathway from non-competitive football into competitive junior football.
All players participate in non-competitive junior football from Under 9s to Under 12s, where the focus is on learning the game, building skills, confidence, and enjoying football in a supportive environment. From Under 14s onwards, players progress into competitive junior football, where training and match play become more structured to support development and future pathways within the club.
Across every age group, our priority remains the same: player wellbeing, skill development, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging within the Giants community.

UNDER 9s – UNDER 12s
NON-COMPETITIVE JUNIOR FOOTBALL
Our Under 9s, Under 10s and Under 12s programs are all non-competitive, designed to help kids learn the game, build confidence, and enjoy football in a positive, supportive environment.
At this stage, the focus is on:
-
Learning fundamental football skills
-
Developing coordination and game understanding
-
Building friendships and teamwork
-
Growing confidence on and off the field
There is no ladder pressure, just structured training, game play, and a strong emphasis on fun and development.
