Geelong West Giants 2026 Club Positions Available – Help Shape the Season

As we continue to build a strong, inclusive and well-run football and netball club at the Geelong West Giants, we are seeking passionate and committed people from within our community to step into several key volunteer roles.


These positions play a vital role in supporting our players, coaches, volunteers and families, and in ensuring our club continues to grow both on and off the field. Whether you have experience in football, netball, administration, or simply a desire to give back, there is a role where you can make a meaningful contribution.


Below is a short overview of the positions currently available and what each role involves.



Junior Football President

The Junior President provides leadership and direction for the club’s junior football programs.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting the junior committee

  • Acting as a key point of contact for parents, coordinators, and the club executive

  • Supporting coaches and volunteers across junior programs

  • Ensuring a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all junior participants


Ideal for someone passionate about junior sport and strong club culture.



GFNL Junior Netball Coordinator

This role supports the administration and coordination of the club’s junior netball program in line with GFNL requirements.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the main liaison between the head of junior netball and the GFNL for junior netball families

  • Managing registrations, team entries, and compliance requirements

  • Supporting coaches, team managers, and volunteers within the netball program

  • Assisting with fixturing, communication, and league administration

  • Helping foster a positive, inclusive and well-organised netball environment


This role suits someone organised, approachable, and passionate about junior netball development.



GFNL Football Operations

This role oversees the smooth operation of all senior football matters in line with GFNL requirements.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing player registrations, permits, and compliance

  • Supporting match day operations and senior football administration

  • Assisting with fixturing, reporting, and league communications


This position suits someone organised, detail-focused, and confident working within league structures.



Senior GFNL Netball Admin Officer

This role supports the smooth administration and compliance of the club’s senior netball program in line with GFNL requirements.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing senior netball player registrations

  • Monitoring and managing player points and salary cap

  • Liaising with coaches and team managers to ensure all official documents and records are kept


This position suits someone highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident working within league frameworks, with a strong understanding of senior netball operations.



Volunteer Coordinator

Our club relies on an incredible volunteer network, this role ensures volunteers are supported, valued, and well coordinated.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for game days and events

  • Managing volunteer rosters and role allocations

  • Being the main point of contact for volunteer enquiries

  • Helping build a positive and appreciative volunteer culture


Perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and creating strong community connections.



Fundraising Coordinator

This role leads the planning and delivery of fundraising initiatives that support the ongoing success of the club.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating fundraising events, raffles, and campaigns

  • Working with sponsors and committee members on fundraising initiatives

  • Supporting both junior and senior fundraising activities

  • Ensuring all fundraising aligns with club values and goals

Head of Junior Recruitment

This role focuses on growing participation across all junior football and netball programs and strengthening our long-term player pathways.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading junior player recruitment strategies across football and netball

  • Building relationships with local schools, Auskick, Net Set GO and community groups

  • Supporting age-group coordinators to identify recruitment opportunities

  • Assisting with retention strategies to keep families engaged year on year

  • Working closely with the Junior President and committee to support sustainable growth


Ideal for someone enthusiastic, well-connected, and passionate about growing grassroots sport.
